2. the Disappearance: Preview/ Post-Performance Discussion
The National Yiddish Book Center, Amherst, MA

September 20 at 8pm; September 21 at 2pm

the Disappearance will be presented at the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA, in conjunction with a symposium led by members of the Double Edge Ensemble and Ilan Stavans, author of The Disappearance: a novella and stories (2006).  More Info.

 


3. the Disappearance - World Premiere/ West Coast Debut

The Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, CA

October 16-17

Double Edge will make its West Coast debut with the Disappearance, based on Ilan Stavans' TheDisappearance: a novella and stories (2006). More info.

 


4. the UNPOSSESSED

The Palace Theater, Hamilton, NY

November 7

Double Edge's re-invention of Cervantes' classic Don Quixote will tour to the Palace Theatre in Hamilton, New York, in association with Colgate University. More info.

 


5. Winter Training Intensive

January 1-6, 2009

Participants will join Double Edge for one week of intensive training and individual performance creation. Applications are currently being accepted for this program. For more information contact Jeremy Louise Eaton at training@doubleedgetheatre.org.


6. The Garden Cycle

Double Edge Theatre, Ashfield, MA

March 21 - May 3, 2009

A performance triptych of the UnPOSSESSED, Republic of Dreams, and the Disappearance, presented together each weekend for six weeks this spring. More details to come.

 


7. Exclusive Workshops with Rena Mirecka

May 2009

Legendary Polish actress Rena Mirecka will be in residency at Double Edge for one month and running exclusive workshops and master classes this May. Mirecka, founding actress of Jerzy Grotowski's seminal Teatr Laboratorium, mentored Artistic Director Stacy Klein in Poland and Italy in the 1970s. Mirecka's pioneering actor training indelibly informed the development of Double Edge. This highly-anticipated meeting completes a circle begun almost thirty years ago. More details to come.
